A California winter

There’s nothing like waking up before the sun, it’s cold, your chasing waves and praying that surfline has its shit together. It’s winter time in California. This translates to lots of Pacific swell. This year S. California has experienced quite the abundant offering of waves from the surf gods. Consistent swell all through the holidays- the perfect way to kick off 2010. East coast gets pummeled with wave after wave of SNOW storms and west coast gets glorious glassy tubes.

I have been fortunate enough to make it to the waves more then once, and these are some of the snapped moments from those such occasions.

Offshore much? Another amazing quality to getting up early is the light. It’s no secret that the best light in the day in right after sunrise and just before/after sunset. This morning there was a very high red tint to the sunrise, which believe it or not is unusual for sunrise. Typically sunrise exudes more of a blue tone… However on this day… the reds were beaming.
